The RuBee Portal Platform (RP2)

The RP2 is High Sensitivity, High Security,
Plug-and-Play, Exit/Entry Human Identity
and Asset Detection Platform.

RuBee Portal Platform (RP2) is a smart portal, security guard and asset audit manager for people and mission critical assets. RP2 provides any high security site with a modular, hot pluggable, portal platform, that can be configured in the field to cover almost any high security exit/entry tag detection problem. Unlike RF systems, the RuBee Portal Platform goes through steel and people, and can read tags in wallets, purses even tags wrapped in aluminum foil, and inside steel cases (see below).

The RP2 to right is configured with a zPod over the door and vMat on the floor. See Video demo below with this configuration.

RP2 is based on new RuBee wireless visibility Viper technology (see below) that provides real-time, highly multiplexed, programable antenna management. The RP2 platform can automatically discover and log human identity at any exit/entry point (doors, check points, gates) using wireless RuBee ID cards and tags with high accuracy.

RP2 can initiate an audio alarm, close a pair of dry contacts, as well as broadcast a network wide XML alarm when any hidden or disallowed, illegal or smuggled assets are detected (see
Video tab).

The RP2 DoorGuard Plug-and-Play Antenna Configuration

In what we call the RP2
DoorGuard® configuration we can place up to 20 antennas (zGate, zPad, vMat) and manage the fields to optimize detection at any internal portal. Unlike RF systems people do not block the RuBee signal. Because RuBee is magnetic we read tags in wallets in steel containers or hidden as anyone walks or runs though a portal.

The RPM antenna over the door produces a field that removes any angle sensitivity from a tag. A zPod antenna (mounted over the Door) or zGate antenna rotates the field on two orthogonal antennas and effectively removes any angel sensitivity. Placing an auxiliary, external zPod antenna over a wide door, can cover about 14 foot volume. zGates can be placed on side of the door. A single zGate provides similar sensitivity to zPad and vMat, dual zGates provide much higher detection sensitivity. A dual xGate with zPod, and vMat provides the ultimate sensitivity. All of this is done with software in the RP2. This effectively makes RuBee antenna placement plug-and-play with in-field design similar to lighting design.

The RP2 and DoorGuard can be configured in near unlimited ways. Let our engineers help you with best designs based on your security needs.

The RP2 GateGuard Configuration

The RP2
GateGuard® configuration is shown to the right. A five channel Muster Plus drives a large loop antenna buried in the road, and two optional side loop antennas. As a vehicle enters or exists a facility it is scanned with all three antennas. We can find five RuBee ID cards with full discovery, detect and identify any RuBee enabled permitted assets, and detect and identify any RuBee enabled hidden illegal assets in about 5 seconds with 99% to 100% accuracy (see Whitepaper). That means a vehicle can be moving at about 5 mph to execute the full protocol (see GateGuard Acceptance Test).

The figure shown above illustrates how RuBee GateGuard works as a vehicle exit exit/entry platform with an ID detection and asset detection system. The figure shows that a RuBee enabled weapon wrapped in Aluminum foil, placed in a steel brief case and hidden in the wheel well in trunk of a “shielded” vehicle is detected on exit. The lower graph is the signal produced by a RuBee GateGuard system as the vehicle drives through a security gate at 6km/h. The green dots represent a valid read (checksums check) and red dots are failed reads. These data show that we can detect the weapon hidden in the case. RuBee GateGuard detects hidden assets at rates of 99% or better. The same vehicle may have up to 5 passengers with unique RuBee ID cards that can also be read at the same time as it passes though the gate at 6km/h. GateGuard can provide detection of high valued assets entering and leaving a facility with very high reliability.

New RuBee Router Technology inside the RP2

The RuBee Portal Platform uses the a new advanced RuBee router design we call the "Viper". The Viper dramatically increases tag detection, tag sensitivity, and range at exit/entry portals. It does this by phase synchronizing ("Nano-Sync") many RuBee base stations. The RP2 has about twice the sensitivity and the range of a Muster Station portal and can synchronize up to 10 RuBee base stations that can in-turn drive up to 20 antennas simultaneously. The Viper buss is controlled by a high speed ARM processor running Linux that also manages TCP/IP data network communication to any Dot-Tag server. The antennas may be configured and optimized to cover a very large detection area. The RP2 and Viper is breakthrough technology, that makes tag exit/entry detection possible with both high sensitivity and high reliability.

The RuBee RP2 can manage arrays of RPM antennas within large areas (see
RPM Video). The Muster Plus can be used to manage exit/entry of mission critical assets from large area 25' wide gates, or single 3' wide person-doors in high security areas (see Laptop Video). It is plug and play, and totally modular -- nothing has to be specified in advance, any Muster Plus can be used for near any exit/entry application by adding or subtracting auxiliary antennas, and base stations. And it is field hot-plug configurable with Dot-Tag and highly modular.
