The Personal RuBee Access Point An Rugged Hand Held with RuBee Applications and TagWare

The RuBee pRap is the next-generation answer to mobile data collection -- The pRap is a ruggedized iTouch/iPhone in a drop hardened industrial case, with a high performance RuBee reader built in, combined with applications and RuBee TagWare. pRaps have been certified by NAVSEA as HERO ZERO, and have a zero safe separation distance (SSD) from fused ordnance.

 pRaps all have a two way, interactive RuBee base station and TagTooltm, a resident RuBee tag manager application. A pRap can discover, ping, read and write to any RuBee tag. Standard pRaps have a range of about 1.5 feet with range options from 7-8 feet and special designed antennas and tags that read up to 50 feet (see RuBee Rod below).



The pRap includes a family of focused applications. An application with firmware in the RuBee tags (TagWare) together provide integrated asset visibility, asset management and asset pedigree mobile data collection that solves, many focused industrial problems at a competitive cost.

The pRap has an optional RJ45 TCP/IP USB converter/charger that plugs into the base and provides full network connectivity. Date may be collected remotely on the pRap, and synced with the Dot-Tag Oracle 11G data base. Since the pRap has 8 GB, so data and databases may be stored locally for mobile access. Visible offers a pRap SDK for developers.



pRaps can read sensor equipped, tags and provide local sensor analytics. We have applications that provide data analytics for weapons shot counters and other industrial sensors, that all sync with Dot-Tag Oracle 11G databases.

* Note can be made for Zone 1, however can not be recharged within zone 1. All charging must be completed within non-ATEX area.


The pRap can be used as a general purpose hand held tag reader, as an portable issuance station for assets, and as a tag commissioning station.
The RuBee Rod is a magic wand - a modified pRap that has an enhanced, higher powered base station, a ferrite antenna with extended range. The pRod can be used to inventory within an area, and locate or find assets within an area, and provides audio feedback so can home in on the location a specific RuBee enabled device. Provides real-time visual and audio feedback to user on direction and distance to RuBee tags, enabling the user to locate missing items. The RuBee Rod has a read range of 7-8 feet. Special tags and RuBee Rods can have ranges of up to 50 feet. The Rod is explosive safe, and with a HERO SSD of 18 inches. HERO ZERO version of the rod has a range of 3-4 feet.
