RuBee is often confused with RFID. UHF RFID systems produce about 4 watts of RF power while RuBee produces about 1 quadrillion (15 zeros) less RF power (40 nano watts). At 4 watts of radiated power the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Human Safety Limits for uncontrolled environments is 23 inches and controlled environments 8.7 inches. That means warning signs must be place in any facility using RFID under US OSHA law (see RFID Standard Warning). RFID is banned from many hospitals and other facilities because of this risk. Again these safety issues and RFID should not be confused with RuBee. RuBee has no Human Safety risks.
